GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Grand Rapids Community College is hosting a series of discussions this week on the influence of technology on business.
The sessions are part of Grand Rapids Tech Weekwhich takes place from Monday September 18 to Saturday September 23. The event is a multi-day series of events designed to highlight the region’s vibrant technology community.

The roundtables will cover, among other topics, artificial intelligence (AI), diversity and inclusion, startups and talent retention. There will also be practical exhibitions and pitch competitions.
“In partnership with The Right Place (regional economic development group), GRCC showcases the intersection of innovation, technology and education in Grand Rapids – a testament to our region’s trajectory toward a focused future. on technology,” said Kristi Haik, dean of GRCC. STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) in a press release.
Today’s community kickoff event at GLC Live at 20 Monroe, which will bring together the area’s top business and community leaders, is sold out. The keynote speaker is author and journalist Malcolm Gladwell, who will also host a Q&A session with the audience during the 3.5-hour event.
On Tuesday, September 19, the Grand Rapids Public Museum will host the Tech Showcase, a day-long interactive event for students in grades 6-8 focused on strengthening our region’s future technology talent pipeline.
Two other Tuesday events are sold out, “Surge AI Talk: Unleash the Power of ChatGPT and the Power of AI in Your Business” and “Supercharge Your Applications with Artificial Intelligence” at Long Road Distillers.
Wednesday, September 20 will feature a series of discussions on generative AI, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence in the future of work titled “Technology Trends Are Reshaping the Enterprise.” These conversations take place from 9 a.m. to noon on GRCC’s Secchia Piazza, inside the Wisner-Bottrall Applied Technology Center, 151 Fountain St. NE.
Here is the full program for Wednesday:
- From 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., Devon Bleibtrey, CEO of flockX, will discuss how businesses are using generative AI to help people connect to local communities, drive traffic to local businesses, and help local artists reach their audiences local. The program is called “Gen AI by flockX”.
- From 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., this White Knight Labs session, which will include a demo, focuses on Cobalt Strike’s Malleable C2 settings that can be adjusted for memory scan evasion. This program is called “Bypassing EDR with Malleable C2 Profiles”.
- From 11 a.m. to noon, Brian McKeiver, co-owner and solutions architect at Bizstream, will examine how artificial intelligence, combined with Microsoft’s OpenAI and Copilots solutions, creates efficient, automated, future-ready workplaces. This session is called “AI by Bizstream”.
