Dr. Jake Shelley is the Alan Paul Schulz Professor of Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, New York. Shelley’s research explores new hardware and software tools for mass spectrometry to improve the detection and identification of analytes, particularly in complex matrices. He is an emerging leader in the field of atomic spectroscopy, as evidenced by his academic training, involvement in journals, conferences and his multiple awards, publications and patents. Dwight Stoll, Ph.D.:
Dwight R. Stoll is a professor of chemistry at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. He received his PhD at the University of Minnesota, under the supervision of Professor Peter Carr, and worked on the development of rapid and comprehensive two-dimensional liquid chromatography (2D-LC). Stoll’s current primary research focus is the development of 2D-LC for targeted and untargeted analyses. Active research projects in his laboratory touch on most aspects of multidimensional separation methodologies, including optimization strategies, characterization of reversed-phase LC selectivity, instrument development, and applications in biopharmaceutical analysis . Stoll has authored or co-authored more than 80 peer-reviewed publications and six book chapters and has taught numerous short courses in 2D-LC. In 2011 he received the prize LCGC Emerging Leader in Chromatography Award. In 2017, he received the Georges Guiochon University Scholarship and was awarded an Agilent Technologies Thought Leader Award. He is also a member of LCGC editorial advisory board and is the editor of the “LC Troubleshooting” column in LCGC.
Jerome Workman, Jr., PhD:
Jerome (Jerry) J. Workman, Jr. is the senior technical editor of LCGC And Spectroscopy. He has served as CTO, Executive Vice President, Principal Investigator, Director and Principal Scientist at companies of all sizes, from start-ups to world-leading corporations. He has served as an adjunct faculty member at four universities and has advised several graduate students. He has more than 75 U.S. and international patent applications and 30 issued U.S. and international patents and multiple trade secrets, as well as more than 500 technical publications and 20 volumes of reference works on a wide range of spectroscopy and processing techniques Datas. He has received numerous awards from scientific societies and has taught annual courses in spectroscopy, chemometrics, and statistics for AOAC, ACS, ISA, FACSS, and at several universities and companies. He is a member of the American Institute of Chemists (FAIC), the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), and the Royal Society of Chemistry of the United Kingdom (FRSC, CChem, CSci). Jerry holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, and a doctorate from Columbia Pacific University specializing in near-infrared spectroscopy. He is an alumnus of Columbia University Business School and the MIT Sloan School of Management.
