Moneris says it has resolved a network outage issue that was affecting debit machines across the country on Saturday morning.
CityNews had received reports of debit machine failures across the country, but the problem was resolved by 11:15 a.m. PST that same morning.
The company posted on social media that merchants may experience “some transactional slowness” while systems catch up.
Other social media posts indicate businesses were affected from B.C.’s south coast to Ontario.
The Interac network has not reported any similar issues.
It’s not clear what caused the network outage or how many businesses were affected, but Moneris says it supports more than 325,000 merchants across Canada.
